(…) I would choose Dzeko. He was the third striker at the beginning of the season and when the team needed him, in crucial moments, he made the difference. He has 16 goals. Sixteen for the third striker is something spectacular. He’s not just a goalscorer. He assists, he plays.” – Jose Mourinho, praises spectacular Dzeko
Hello governors, now eat your hearts out !
Jose really took your English journalistic lot by surprise, and it must be strange feeling, like something hard stiff stuck up your collective ass …
Unfortunately large portion of City supporters and especially those media pundits who are supporters of Manchester City, like M.E.N. writers/columnists, or B/R City writers, and who never stopped for a moment in their bias and often completely fake analysis used for persistent belittling and smearing of Dzeko. Despite or in spite of English prejudiced view of his abilities, talent, and achievements, Edin Dzeko was and still is world class player – entire class above best English strikers.
No doubt English media recognized Edins’ significance in second half of the season and in last four games when he single-handedly secured title for his club (again!).
But don’t be fulled, this morning Daily Mail found a way to belittle his moment of glory, and most of these articles we could read through out last month, all have that nuanced undertones in which you have been warned that Dzeko, despite the fact that he was key for both City titles, he still doesn’t belong to category of so called “world class” strikers, let alone players.
However, reality is completely different, and all these biased trolls in English media will probably watch Edin as City player for at least another year or two.
And of course some reports are more honest and objective then other, and some articles recognize Edins’ contribution, abilities and significance more then other, like these two filled with irrefutable facts:
But Jose Mourinho really nailed it down with the following statement, in spite everyones’ opinion and Premier League formal decisions:
Speaking about Luis Suarez winning the footballer of the year award, the Portuguese boss said:
“My player of the year would always be from the champions. Manchester City need a point. I would say a City player and I would choose Dzeko.
Well said Jose !
